Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Inn - Castleton (Derbyshire)

I had a good stay at Cheshire Cheese, where the cozy bar created a warm atmosphere, especially by the coal fires. The food was excellent, with generous portions and a tempting breakfast each morning. The staff were friendly, and the rooms, though basic, provided all the comforts needed for a restful night. The location is ideal for exploring the stunning countryside.

Fairly clean property, breakfast is amazing and well priced. Make sure to get double room with bathroom, shower, built in wardrobe. The staff has always been polite and kind. Have a drink at the English bar.

The room was a major letdown. No extra bed for my daughter despite being promised, and the mattress had exposed springs – ouch! Plus, the food was a total disappointment; the veggie options were limited and poorly presented. not the stay I hoped for!

The cheshire cheese was lovely. The small double room was clean and tidy, and the staff were really friendly. It's tucked away from the crowd. Dinner had a great starter, and the breakfast was excellent! We loved the roast beef dinners-really good value!

We had a delightful time enjoying the cozy room filled with all the essentials and indulging in a fantastic full English breakfast each morning. The pub really buzzed with life, and relaxing by the fire with a good book was a real treat after a long day of walking. Just a heads up, the Wi-Fi was a bit spotty in our room, but it didn’t take away from our stay. 😊
